C H A P T E R . T H R E E

i know, i know. terrible blogging on my part! i won't post about every single week we've had, but i'll post about a few that we've had recently that have been super fun.

chalk
i had this great idea that since it was getting warmer outside, olivia and i would draw with chalk! i went to the store and got some chalk (washable of course) and we started drawing with it! it was super fun to see what she would draw and i loved seeing her so happy over something as little as chalk. and yes, it was unbelievably messy..thank goodness for washable chalk, right?! 

haircut

this week was probably one of my favorites. i took olivia with me to get my haircut. she was so excited to go! i told her and she started shaking her hands (she does this when she gets excited) and just got super excited. once we got to the salon, i told her that she could have a mint from the salon while i got my haircut..she thought that was the coolest thing ever. then, we went back to the chairs and i got my haircut! olivia just sat there as still as can be and watched me in awe the entire time. she really doesn't like to get her haircut, so i was trying to show her that it is actually kind of fun! but, when ii was done, she still wasn't sure if she was ready to get her hair cut yet:) after the haircut, we went and got her favorite treat, mcdonald's ice cream cones. she was one happy girl, let me tell you!

target

last week, olivia and i went on a target shopping trip. i mean, what girl doesn't like shopping?? i needed some new makeup, so we went makeup shopping! olivia didn't get any makeup, but we did find some pink nail polish for her, her very own nail file, and some pink body spray. see a pattern? that girl loves pink! it was so fun for me since i love shopping and seeing her face light up at all the things we found for her was priceless. we had to save some money though, because she loves the icees at target. when i asked her what size she usually gets she said, "ummm a large!!" i'm sure she never gets a large one, but it was a special occasion so a large it was!

there's the last couple months in a nutshell! as i've gotten to know olivia better, i feel like she was sent to me. she was my little angel in a time of need. this past school year has been hard, but every tuesday that i'm with olivia, i feel like i am my happiest; i'm my best self with her. being with her puts things into perspective. this life is just a little stop on the road to our eternal salvation. make the most of your life here on earth. be Christlike. serve. be happy. that's what this life is all about..being happy. if you're not happy, pray. that's exactly what I did. i wanted to truly be happy again, so i prayed and i pleaded with Heavenly Father to please let me be happy. and you know what, once i stopped worrying about everyone else around me, and focused on becoming my best self, i became h a p p y. if you're ever feeling down or bad about yourself, do something for someone else. that's what Christ would do.
